PARIS, France (AP) – Kylian Mbappé's late strike proved decisive as Paris Saint-Germain kickstarted their Champions League campaign with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.
The French striker broke the deadlock in the 77th minute, pouncing on a loose ball and firing it past goalkeeper Gregor Kobel. Mauro Icardi had earlier put PSG ahead in the first half, but Jude Bellingham equalized for Dortmund in the second.
Despite a flurry of chances for both sides, the match ended with PSG securing a narrow win and Borussia Dortmund ending the group stage as leaders with 16 points. PSG sneaked through as runners-up with 10 points, narrowly edging out Sevilla and Maccabi Haifa.
