Predicted Hearts team v Celtic: Forward line, formation change and returning players

Hearts are set to make a number of changes to their team for the visit of Celtic on Saturday.

The most notable change is likely to be in attack, where Liam Boyce is expected to start alongside Lawrence Shankland.

Boyce has been in excellent form for Hearts this season, scoring 12 goals in all competitions.

Shankland, meanwhile, has yet to find the net for his new club but will be hoping to break his duck against Celtic.

Another change could come in midfield, where Peter Haring is expected to return to the starting line-up.

Haring has been out injured since October but is now fit again and could start alongside Andy Halliday and Cammy Devlin.

Finally, Hearts could also change their formation to a 3-5-2, with John Souttar, Craig Halkett and Kye Rowles forming a back three.

This would allow Hearts to match Celtic's formation and could help them to nullify the threat of Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis.

Here is our predicted Hearts team to face Celtic:

  • Gordon
  • Souttar
  • Halkett
  • Rowles
  • Smith
  • Devlin
  • Halliday
  • Haring
  • Boyce
  • Shankland

Celtic are the clear favorites for the match, but Hearts will be hoping to cause an upset.

The match will be played at Tynecastle Park on Saturday, March 11, at 3pm.
