The Council Rock Newtown Baseball team is one win away from reaching the Little League World Series. The team, which has been on an undefeated streak through districts, sectionals, states, and regionals, will try to end that streak on Thursday night in the championship game.
Council Rock Newtown dropped its opener to Boerne, Texas, 9-0, on Thursday night's Little League World Series opener.
But the team rallied to win its next two games by a combined score of 17-2. In its second game, Council Rock Newtown defeated Great Lakes champion Grand Rapids, Michigan, 9-1. In its third game, the team defeated Southwest champion Tulsa, Oklahoma, 8-1.
Council Rock Newtown is scheduled to play its World Series opener at 7 p.m. on Thursday against the winner of the Great Lakes-Southwest game.
